One of my now two magazines went to press and I can't wind down, so I was up at 3am again after sleeping my ISIS-mandated 3 to 4 hours. Oh, that stands for Industrial Strength Insomniacs Society.

Here are some thoughts. I've spent some time now in Vista, and I like it. I won't say I'm any more efficient on it than I am with my iBook, but I do well enough.

Here's a pictorial guide to my desktop, and the software I believe a power-user would find useful, especially those who are used to a Mac's legendary productivity.

Click each picture to biggify it.

Here's what my desktop screen looks like:

I installed Hot Corners, a freeware port of the same in OS X that really speeds up work for me:

I also couldn't do without sticky notes, also a port from the Mac:

I'm not that messy in real life. No, really.

At the top left of screen:

The notes explain themselves, I think.

Now if I can only get alt-tab to hover-switch (without clicking first) like the Mac, and to map ctrl to alt (so that I can save files by using my thumb and third finger on home row) I would never need go back to a Mac again.

What shall I have for breakfast, Film Lab?

Worse than talking to myself: talking to my blog.
