i think
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:33:15 PM)
riders who are on the road, are first and foremost selfish people
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:33:17 PM)
which is okay
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:33:34 PM)
the problem arises when people get injured/killed
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:33:43 PM)
then they start saying that drivers are reckless etc...
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:33:56 PM)
but the main reason is that riders trust drivers to keep them safe.
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:34:01 PM)
which they shld not.
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:34:23 PM)
and it doesn't matter what the governement does
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:34:34 PM)
you erect cycling lanes --- drivers will simply drive in them
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:34:59 PM)
best way is to put cycling lanes alongside pavements
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:35:04 PM)
and with a barrier
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:35:18 PM)
pedestrians can jolly well walk slower to get around other pedestrians
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:35:25 PM)
not much of a sacrificie of road space
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:35:31 PM)
riders are protected by the kerb
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:35:35 PM)
on the right
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:35:58 PM)
why nobody ever proposed this?
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:36:27 PM)
and its not very hard
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:36:37 PM)
the only cyclists who will complain is those die hard roadies who want speed
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:36:39 PM)
fuck them
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:36:49 PM)
what's a few bumps up and down off the pedestrian pavement

in my opinion, riding on a road is a choice

Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:38:34 PM)
have u seen the amount of pavement with grass patch on the side
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:38:44 PM)
just half of that grass patch is enough for cyclist lane
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:39:02 PM)
keep half the grass, enough liao
Victor says: (4:39:07 PM)
grass patch are needed to irrigate the trees that are planted...
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:39:11 PM)
what we need so much grass for
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:39:23 PM)
irrigation can be more intensive
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:39:42 PM)
grass runs on both sides of pavement
Victor says: (4:39:55 PM)
the trees cannot survive if there is less lah
Vincent - if you're a mouse, and you romp with elephants, do you think a helmet helps? says: (4:39:55 PM)
we truly care more about grass than the lives of cyclists

My cat's days are numbered.

His Creatinine is 11.3 mg/dL.

His blood urea is 74 mg/dL.

The vet suggests palliative care, but only after he first suggested a concrete plan for the E word.

Euthanasia.

We have maybe a week, two. Or the weekend. Vet says he has never seen a cat eat with creatinine levels at 11, but after I gave him painkillers (IRIS - International Renal Interest Society puts level 3 and 4 renal failure as possibly having symptoms of "aching" whatever the fuck that means) he ate a bit of Fancy Feast seafood classic from my hand.

Hey, at least he is eating. And also, when he first crashed on the 14th Feb, his creatine was 5.something but he only looks a little less bad than today.

So who knows.

however I already let all who care know that this could be our last weekend.

Dear Sir / Madam,

RE: NOTICE OF TRAFFIC OFFENSE

I refer to your letter dated 5 Mar 2010. I would like to appeal against the offence.

The circumstances are as follows. I had spent the previous night, which was the 1st day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, in my office overnight, caring for my sick office cat. I was due to be home on the 2nd day of Chinese Lunar New Year to fetch my parents to visit our relatives, and I was running late.

I had tried to put off visiting the vet with my cat for more than a week already prior to the date of the offence. However on the 14 Feb 2010 it became clear to me that my cat was truly very sick and needed immediate attention. He had refused food for a week and looked very poorly indeed. However because of the national holidays, no veterinary clinics were open. I would have to wait another 2 or more days until the clinics reopened, which I feared would be too late for my pet.

These personal matters were weighing heavily on my heart and mind on the morning of the offence:

I had put off the critical decision to bring my cat to the vet, until it was potentially too late
I had to be home on time and was already running late,
I had not gotten much sleep the night before
There was little traffic on that stretch of road that morning to help me gauge my speed, which led to me reaching such a high speed before I noticed and took action to slow down to the legal limit.

As this is my first traffic offense, I truly hope that you will give me a chance and allow me to make up for my mistake by driving even more carefully from now on. Waivering the $150 fine and the 6 demerit points would be a great boon in what is already a very challenging (and ironic) Year of the Tiger for me.

For this, I thank you with all my heart for your compassion and seek your kindest understanding.

Most sincerely,

VINCENT WONG (IC: S76zzzzzzzzz)

p.s. I sent my cat to accident & emergency services on the 16th February, where he was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure, and warded twice - first 4 days for observation, and again by another 4 days when he ‘crashed’ from electrolyte imbalance. The cost of the entire episode – not including the fine - has amounted to more than $2600 in veterinary bills so far and climbing, as I continue to care for this treasured companion through the last days that we have together. I have attached copies of the bills so that you may verify the truth of the above; again, I seek your compassion and kind understanding.

My life is teh suck.

Or sick, i and u are so close together.
