If you ever visit Mount Pleasant Animal Clinic Sunset way, don't make Dr *ng your attending. She's not very good I have to say. Fortunately I'm trained in health-speak by now and understand bruteness when I hear it, and I don't listen anymore. Fortunately she is only filling in for Thurs, tmr it's back to Dr Ho.

I then went to see him at 2, stayed for 45 minutes. He didn't eat. Then I went back to office.

I was severely depressed. It felt like losing Sam all over again, but maybe 3/4ths the intensity. I'm comparing a girlfriend to a cat, but which girlfriend you ever dated saw you every single day?

I went back to office to meet my boss and talk about work.

At 5 plus, I was with my head on my table, my heart in my hands and lucky sleeping under my chair. He's really such a puppy, except really he's a cat. Have you ever seen a cat roll up and let you rub his tummy? Lucky does that. Tts the best part about raising a 10-day old kitten - they think you're cats too.

Lucky now follows me whereever I go, and when I snap my fingers, he gets the message and just trots along. Dusky took 2 months to trust me that much. Which is why this fucking hurts so much.

Lucky better never trust anyone else as much. One of Dusky's patient-mates was thrown off a high floor and broke his jaw, punctured his lungs. Friendly cat, that Danni... sigh.

I saw Dusky again at 6 plus after speeding my way through traffic. I'd decided I'd get more done at the clinic than in the office, which felt so empty without him. I also figured that if he wasn't eating, they'd better force-feed him with my supervision, otherwise hepatic lipidosis - fatty liver syndrome. Then double whammy.

I hand fed him once. Then I stayed there.

He ate a second round of hand-feeding.

Then just before I was due to be kicked out at 8 30pm, he initiated eating on his own. So I handfed him his 3rd serving.

I'm hopeful he'll do well in his blood panels tomorrow.

I'm one of the longest-working health magazine editors in Sg to date today.

Dusky may have 10 lives yet.

We do this.

Semper Fi!
