Posts: 120 My new Hifi was creaking bad after 2 rides. After ripping everything off, lubing/greasing, and putting it back together to the proper torque, to no avail. I narrowed the creak down to the rear shock (fox rp23). The air can was not on tight. Taking the shock apart, lubing the threads on the shock, tightening it, and re-installing the shock fixed the problem.

Might I suggest looking on BETD site at their Roller bearing alternative. I made a home brew version that works really well on any RP shock - right now on my RP23 on my RIP9. FOX bushings are known to be soft and wear quick and creak/squeak/tick.
Lucky I didn't try to unbolt anything yet.
Will subject this latest theory to more testing when my magazine closes. Suddenly I remember another reason why I didn't want to get into full suspension - maintenance times 2.5 does not seem very fun to me.
Plus I did ZERO maintenance on my bike before.
I am in a damn bad mood today.
And local television is not helping.
And OFF goes the television. Every single thing is irritating.
My hands are also trembling again.
And back to work.
