So what happened was ...
In February 2004, my life came to a screeching halt.
I've been living in the shadow of those events ever since.
I stopped buying clothes.
I stopped going out. I stopped talking to my friends.
The dream was over. Everything ended.
There was nobody to help me up and out. There was just Dad, Raj, David and an endless parade of Special Brews. There were online friends like Gina and Amy, and Julienne.
Slowly, life restarted.
I got a job in April, but I walked out from it.
I got another job in June, and I walked out from that one, too. I wasn't ready.
Then August rolled around, and I found a job I could stick to. I was a location scout for Mediac*rp. I could ride around and work at the same time. I stuck to that for about a year, and I found my copywriting job and stuck to that for a year and a quarter.
Then I got fired for not loving copywriting. Then I spent September 2006 till June 2007 looking for somewhere else to fit in, which fits me.
That, in a nutshell, is my life till today.
Boy, does getting a new wallet trigger an onerous episode of reflectivity.
I'll have to marry her, because I've always said I'd marry the first girl who buys me a new wallet.
