I love The Contenders.
And all their funny accents and how they all want to lose weight, but get happy at the sight of pasta for dinner.
Shit, me too. Clementi's Botak Jones place has a Italian Pizzeria that has fuck-me carbonara.
I may have mispelled that word, but it is that good.
I rode the road bike to work today and back, and I am unimpressed.
I took the same amount of time and effort to climb a hill, and I'm easily more tired after that. AND my first return commute on Gina was 44min (if I recall) and that on the road bike? 39 min. So that is not much at all.
Is it the cog-ring combo? Or that I spin easier than I mash? Or the lighter weight of a roadbike allows it to arrogantly proclaim impossible ring-cog combos?
And out of nowwhere I am reminded of my ex and me eating a simple dinner at Chinatown because I could not afford much else then ....
It only cost 2.50 for a rice and meat combo ....
Memories .... Do you miss creating new ones, or do you just miss the person you made them with?
The original quote: All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.[1
~ J.R. Tolkien
ard in its original context, the letter left at Bree by Gandalf.
The theme of the poem is appearance vs reality. The first line is a variant and rearrangement of the proverb All that glitters is not gold, known primarily from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice: Aragorn is vastly more important than he looks. The second line emphasises the importance of the Rangers, suspiciously viewed as wanderers or vagabonds by those the Rangers actually protect from evil. Lines three and four emphasise endurance, while five and six emphasise renewal. Line seven refers to the sword Narsil. Line eight predicts Aragorn's rise to be king of kingless Gondor and vanished Arnor.
