According to the crankset, if the chain is position at one extreme ( granny )

to another extreme ( cog 9 ), the chain will rub the middle ring a little,

thus the ticking sound occur.

This is due to the narrow chainring space of 9 speed.

"This is not the case. The movement can be felt. I pressed the chainrings back and forth and the sloppiness is visible and obvious.

You can feel the chainrings "CLICK" back and forth between the frame and the cranks.


Even on my STX-Rc this will not happen... so I suspect either spacers are missing, or the crank is not tightened...
