This is by far my favourite pic of all.
I have it on my new widescreen LCD.
I love it. I'm in tech heaven. My ibook is hooked up to the microphone port, and my telly is hooked up to line in. My phone records perfect voice recordings for interviews, plus it replaces my ipod AND it replaces my palm tungsten. I have 3 msn accounts so i can exclude/ignore/invisiblee anyone I want whenever I feel like it - just yet 2 more ways to be unavailable. I say again, I'm in tech heaven.
But back to the picture and why I love it.
First, the colours.
Second, the subject. You'd think the subject is the girl on the carousel with her back to us. You'd wonder, who is she? I do too. Maybe she's my girl.
But the real subject, according to the Golden Rule, is either the boy on the skateboard (that could be me?) or the girl that is in soft focus in the foreground crossing the portrait.
Or the empty seat on the carousel that is ACTUALLY IN FOCUS, instead of the girl on the carousel with her back to us. Just follow the line of focus across the bottom 1/3 of the screen to see that THAT is the real focus.
Fuck me, this pic is a Renoir! I refer you to Le Fabuelix Destiny de Amelie Poulain, in which there is a famous painting by Renoir and the focus shifts about, JUST LIKE IN THIS PICTURE!
PLUS I WENT TO PARIS AND BOUGHT A BOOK BY RENOIR son of the painter, who himself became a film director and wrote about his life as a director son of a painter.
I exhaust myself. I have to be up in 4 hours.
And as usual, I deleted the original pic for this image.
Fuck.
At least I know where I can go to retake this pic.
RENOIRRRRRR!
